The Astrologies is a project already nearly ten years in the making. This is the fourth draft of the first part of an epic novel set in a complacent empire on the verge of crisis. Part One introduces the fading empire, a rising merchant prince, a conspiracy of would-be sorcerers, and a variety of other characters whose fates will eventually intermingle.
